I’ve started writing many times.

Usually, I open a blank page, try to come up with something important enough to say, and quietly close it again. This time, I’m starting with something simpler: a record of what I’m thinking, building, and learning while it is still uncertain.

I’m Eric. I build products and startups, which mostly means spending a lot of time moving between huge excitement and deep frustration.

A new idea can feel obvious at midnight and completely ridiculous the next morning. A product can make perfect sense in a document and fall apart the moment a real person tries it. Sometimes the small, unglamorous idea becomes the one people actually want.

That gap between imagination and reality is what interests me most.

I want to write about finding the first real users, turning vague ideas into useful products, and deciding which ambitious directions deserve more time. I’ll probably also write about AI. Not only as a tool for generating text, images, and code, but as something that could change people's lives in meaningful ways.

There will also be poker, travel, failed experiments, strange observations, and an ongoing argument with myself about life choices.

I don’t have a grand theory to present. Most of what I believe is still being tested.

This blog is where I’ll share the ideas, decisions, mistakes, and occasional insights that survive contact with reality.
